Remember to use the bibliographies at the end of journal articles, encyclopedia entries, books, and book chapters to lead you to more articles and books on your subject!
When looking for a review of a play, film, or book, use the pull down menus from the search boxes in the recommended databases. For example, in the EBSCOhost database, “Academic Search Premier”, choose “Reviews & Products” from the drop down search menu. In JSTOR, use the “Advanced Search” and check the “Review” box below the search boxes. In Project Muse, also check the “Reviews Only” box below the search boxes.
Google Scholar is a time-saving, scholarly search interface accessible from within the Google interface. With Google Scholar, you can access peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and book sections. For literature searching, specialized databases have more functionality and access more comprehensive results, but Google Scholar is a good tool.
