Introduction to Prezi: Get Started

Log In

Visit http://prezi.com and login in to Prezi by clicking the "Login" button at the top of the screen.

Using the Toolbar

The Settings Bar is where you can (from left to right): undo or redo, save your Prezi, insert, customize, start your presentation, share (invite others to view your Prezi, put on Facebook, download a copy), adjust the aspect ratio (for projector screens), and to exit. 

When creating your Prezi, you will use the Insert button to insert: arrows, images, symbols & shapes, YouTube videos, background music, files (pdf or video), and PowerPoints.  This button also has a highlighter tool. You will use the Customize button to customize/edit the current theme.

 

Navigating the Canvas

Quick Tips to Navigate: 

  • Zoom in and out by scrolling on your mouse
  • Move around the canvas by clicking your mouse and dragging

  • To center yourself on the page, click the house button found on the right side of the canvas.  You can also zoom in and out by clicking the plus (+) or minus (-) magnifying glasses.

Getting Started

1. To create a Prezi, click on either of the "Create a new prezi" buttons. 

 

Or, if you would like to work on an existing Prezi, hover over it and select "Edit prezi" in the lower right corner of the preview. 

2. After the new Prezi loads, either select "Start blank prezi" to start with a blank canvas or select one of the given templates and click on the "Use template" button.
