Library Orientation for Students

Welcome to Mount St. Mary’s University and the Hugh J. Phillips Library.

We are here to help you succeed. Our resources and services are focused on your information needs. The library's hours are scheduled for your convenience.  Even when you cannot come to the Library, our faculty and staff want you to know how to access our resources.

It’s easy to discover what the library has for you.  

Don't hesitate to ask for help either through email, the chat service or by dropping by our librarians' office on the Main Floor of the Library!

• Your Mount ID card is your Library card too!   The barcode on the back of the Mount ID card is your main library account number.
• Books from our library are checked out for the semester.
• Books found in WorldCat Discovery from other libraries are delivered to you free! Books from other libraries are only loaned to you for 4 weeks or less.
• If you don't find the book you need in the WorldCat Discovery we will get it for you our Interlibrary Loan system.
• You may check out up to 50 books per semester.
• The library's Get Started page is where all of our information sources are gathered.
