American Prison Newspapers, 1800s-present: Voices from the Inside
     A collection of over 700 prison newspapers published from across the U.S. These publications depict and report on all manner of life within the walls of prisons, from the quotidian to the upsetting. Incarcerated journalists walk a tightrope between oversight by administration–even censorship–and seeking to report accurately on their experiences inside.

California Digital Newspaper Collection
     Contains over 400,000 pages of California newspapers published from 1846 - present. 

Independent Voices
     Independent Voices is an open access digital collection of alternative press newspapers, magazines and journals, drawn from the special collections of participating libraries. These periodicals were produced by feminists, dissident GIs, campus radicals, Native Americans, anti-war activists, Black Power advocates, Hispanics, LGBT activists, the extreme right-wing press and alternative literary magazines during the latter half of the 20th century.
